Competitive Mental Toughness

One part of being the best in your sport are your physical abilities. This includes your speed, strength, technical skill, experience, and everything else you need to master your sport.

Then there is the other part; a crucial skill that will set you apart from the rest. Your ability to excel, to “bring it” when it counts will rely on whether you have developed your MENTAL TOUGHNESS.

Even the most physically capable athletes will underachieve if they lack self confidence or are unable to handle the pressure of competition. If they focus on the wrong things, or get stuck on mistakes or set-backs, it doesn’t matter how prepared or how skillful they are, they will not have a chance to tap in to these skills.

Mental toughness trains your mind at the same time as you train your body, so that you can easily concentrate on the right things, handle nerves, fears, slumps, comparisons, and overcome adversity in any situation.

A mentally tough athlete is resilient to pressure and failures. Between athletes of equal athletic skills, the athlete with Mental Toughness will come out on top.
